IMAGES OF SANTIAGO, CHILE EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE
MRP Engineering visited Chile in March 2010 following the M8.8 earthquake and documented the following images showing the damage found in Santiago.

Santiago Ring Expressway Collapsed eastbound spans of elevated portions of the Vespucio Norte Express (Santiago Ring Expressway) have been removed at Lo Echevers. Westbound portion in background has been shored up. 
Lateral Shear Keys Lateral shear keys in westbound portion of elevated roadway are damaged. Elevated sections consist of simple-span precast girders supported on reinforced concrete multi-column bents. 
Ciudad Empresarial Damaged office building at Ciudad Empresarial in Santiago. This building has a reinforced concrete shear wall core. Exterior wall appears architectural.

Warehouse Damage in Santiago Damaged older warehouse at Ciudad Empresarial in Santiago. This building has a precast concrete frame with weak connections to precast double-tee wall panels.
