MRP ENGINEERING PERFORMS POST-EVENT DAMAGE INVESTIGATION AND RESEARCH
On March 11, 2011, a M9.0 earthquake occurred along subduction zone off the east coast of Japan. The strong shaking lasted over three minutes. The tsunami that followed overtopped sea walls and devastated low-lying coastal areas. MRP Engineering was part of the Structural Engineers Association of Washington (SEAW) reconnaissance team that traveled to Japan to observe the earthquake and tsunami impacts.
In March 2012, MRP Engineering returned to northeast Japan to observe recovery efforts in the affected region. Read more >>
